California Wildfires: Thousands Evacuated as Flames Spread
Mandatory Evacuations Ordered for Residents in Danger
As of 8:06 AM PST on February 20, 2021, wildfires in California continue to rage, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate their homes. The fires have already scorched hundreds of acres and destroyed several structures.
Multiple Fires Burning Throughout the State
Multiple wildfires are currently burning throughout the state, including the Ranch Fire in Tehama County, the Montague Fire in Siskiyou County, and the Dunlap Fire in Fresno County. The Ranch Fire is currently the most active, having burned over 100,000 acres and destroyed at least 50 structures.
Firefighters are working to contain the blazes, but strong winds and dry conditions are making their efforts difficult. Evacuation orders have been issued for residents in the areas immediately surrounding the fires, and authorities are urging people to stay out of affected areas.
